Coding Agent
In one line
A coding agent writes, edits, runs and tests code on its own — Claude Code, Cursor and Devin are the canonical examples in 2026.
Going deeper
A coding agent goes well past autocomplete — it writes code, runs it, debugs it and re-tests. Because it touches the filesystem, terminal and Git, it is one of the most mature applications of the ReAct pattern in production today.
Marketers do not write code directly, but two ripples reach them. First, marketing and analytics automation scripts are increasingly delegated to coding agents. Second, site and landing page creation is moving inside coding agents, which means you can ask for GEO-aware code from the first commit.
It is also interesting that the security model of coding agents — sandboxed execution, human approval on diffs, then merge — is becoming the template for agents in other domains.
