Agentic Search

Also known as에이전틱 검색Agent-driven Search

In one line

Agentic search is the paradigm where an AI agent runs multiple searches and tool calls on the user's behalf, then synthesises a single answer.

Going deeper

Agentic search is the move from a user typing five queries and comparing results to an agent doing all of that on their behalf. ChatGPT's deep research, Perplexity's reasoning mode and Google's Gemini Deep Research all fit this pattern — one prompt fans out into dozens of internal searches.

It matters for GEO because the unit changes. The question is no longer 'how often am I cited per search' but 'how often do I show up across the dozens of internal searches behind a single user prompt'. That naturally favours authoritative sources and consistent data.

In agentic search, pages that deliver a clean one-sentence definition tend to win citations. Agents also cross-check the same fact across sites, so making sure your facts line up across channels is creeping closer to a real KPI.
