Chunk Optimization

Also known as인용 단위 최적화Passage Optimization

In one line

Chunk optimization is the practice of structuring content into self-contained passages an LLM can lift directly into its answer.

Going deeper

Chunk optimization assumes the LLM does not read your page as a whole — it pulls passages. To be quotable, each passage needs the definition, evidence and conclusion to live inside that one block. Sentences that depend on context from elsewhere on the page get skipped.

A workable rule of thumb: one passage, one answerable question. Use H2/H3 headings as hard breaks and put the answer sentence as the first line of each section. The most quotable copy is the copy that is literally copy-pasteable.

Important nuance — chunk optimization is not the same as 'write short'. Each chunk should be tight, but the page as a whole still needs enough depth and evidence to read as authoritative. Short and shallow pages tend to drop out of the citation pool.
