Citation-worthiness

Also known as인용 적합성Citability

In one line

Citation-worthiness is how readily a piece of content gets quoted by an LLM — driven mainly by factual specificity, self-containment, structure and authority.

Going deeper

Citation-worthiness is a content attribute — how readily an LLM will quote a given piece. It is less about keyword matching and more about a composite of factual specificity, self-contained passages, clean structure and domain authority.

A working self-audit: (1) Does the first screen give the core definition in one sentence? (2) Do the headings alone make the structure obvious? (3) Does any single paragraph still answer something on its own? (4) Are there stats, numbers or crisp definitions worth quoting? Four 'yes' answers and you are very likely a citation candidate.

Ultimately, getting cited inside an AI answer is about producing sentences that read fine when pasted out of context. Citation-worthiness is the umbrella concept everything else in GEO content strategy — chunk optimization, Q&A, listicles, comparative content — quietly funnels into.
