Site Architecture

Also known as정보 구조Information Architecture

In one line

Site architecture is how you organise pages into categories and connect them via internal links — the structure that tells both search engines and AI what your site is really about.

Going deeper

Site architecture covers both the category-and-subcategory tree all the way down to page level and the internal link graph layered on top. The classic advice — keep things flat (within three clicks), organise into topical clusters — works because it helps bots see what your site is mainly about and matches how humans browse.

A clean architecture acts as a topical authority signal in itself. If you cover GEO, hub-and-spoke around a GEO pillar page is far stronger than scattering articles across an unstructured pile of categories, where no single topic ends up obviously dominant.

AI search raises the stakes. LLMs lean on inter-page relationships when they form a model of what a domain is for. Sites with chaotic architecture often end up cited under the wrong category, even when the underlying content is fine.
