Agentic Web

Also known as에이전틱 웹Agent-first Web

In one line

Agentic Web is the term for a web in which AI agents — not humans — are the primary actors browsing, parsing and acting on sites. It became part of the industry vocabulary through 2024 and 2025.

Going deeper

Agentic Web is the term for a web in which agents do the browsing on the user's behalf. As ChatGPT's agent mode, Perplexity Comet and the open-source browser-use project went mainstream, more sites began seeing bots — not humans — as the first visitor for many sessions, and the industry needed a name for the shift.

The implication for marketers is straightforward: your site has to be friendly to machines as well as humans. Prices rendered only by JavaScript, specs hidden behind modals, forms guarded by captchas — minor friction for a human, often a hard stop for an agent. That friction translates into lost transactions you never see in your funnel.

Agentic Web is still pre-norm. Which bots to allow, how agents authenticate for purchases or bookings, how to tell a real agent from a spoof — all of it is being argued out at the same time. Until things settle, the safe play is data hygiene that holds up across UCP, MCP and A2A in parallel.
