Cornerstone Content

Also known as기둥 콘텐츠Foundational Content

In one line

Cornerstone content is the small set of five to ten pages your site relies on most for traffic, conversions and citations — the load-bearing columns that anchor overall trust.

Going deeper

Cornerstone content is a Yoast term: the five to ten pages your site depends on more than any others. Usually that's the main category pages, the bestsellers and the flagship guide content. Newer posts are expected to consistently funnel internal links into these cornerstones.

It overlaps with the pillar-page idea but the framing is different. A pillar is the hub of a specific topic cluster; a cornerstone is a site-wide priority marker. A single page can be both, and most teams treat it that way in practice.

The whole discipline is in the maintenance loop, not the launch. When stats, screenshots, regulations or tool names change, cornerstones are the first pages you update — their freshness sets the perceived E-E-A-T of the entire site.
